PRP skin needling is great for your skin and can improve skin tone and texture, helping to keep your skin looking youthful.
Protein-rich plasma contains platelets which contain high levels of growth factors. When injected into the skin, cell turnover is stimulated and new collagen is produced. Essentially, this means you will see a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles in the face, toned skin, improved acne scarring, improved rosacea and reduction in dark appearance under the eyes.
This procedure is non-surgical and involves minimal downtime.
What to Expect
PRP skin needling involves taking some of your blood – this is similar to a blood test.
This blood is put in a specialised centrifuge device, which extracts the nutrient rich properties (plasma and platelets) from the blood.
The plasma is superficially injected into the target area of the skin.
These injections will cause new collagen to start production, which will result in a more youthful, vibrant appearance.
Your procedure may take around 45-60 minutes, depending on the area being treated.
Following the procedure, skin is often red and may feel tight. It’s similar to the feeling of sunburn, discomfort is very mild.
Over the following weeks collagen production takes place. Visible results can be seen 6 to 12 weeks following the procedure.
To maintain results, we recommend having three to six treatments, four to six weeks apart.
Which areas can be treated?
PRP & skin needling can be used on the face and body, as well as the scalp.
