What is the SmartXide CO2 Laser?
The SmartXide CO2 Laser is one of the best skin resurfacing and remodelling devices on the market. The laser offers medical grade skin treatment and is carried out by medical professionals.
It efficiently treats most skin conditions, including sunspots, fine lines, lip lines, crow’s feet, hyperpigmentation, acne scars, rhinophyma and other aging skin conditions such as skin laxity. Skin tags and unsightly moles (cosmetic) are removed whilst sparing the surrounding skin from damage, minimising scarring.
The laser emits light in a pixelated fashion to create small columns of thermal injury known as dermal optical thermolysis (aka DOT therapy) to treat skin conditions in the epidermis (the top layer of skin) and dermis (the second layer of skin).
This small injury to your skin tissue stimulates collagen remodelling and promotes elastic tissue formation. By targeting just the superficial layer of the skin tissue, damaged skin is removed, revealing younger looking skin.
What skin conditions does the SmartXide CO2 Laser treat and which areas can be treated?
The SmartXide CO2 Laser can treat most skin types and all areas of the body and has impressive skin tightening capabilities. Improving many skin conditions for example: fine lines, wrinkles, uneven skin texture, crepey skin, large pores, pigmentation, sun damage, scars (including acne scars), stretch marks and rejuvenation of the face, neck, décolletage, hands and body.

How many treatments will I need?
The number of treatments required depends on the skin concern to be treated.
The Deep Laser Peel function delivers the greatest improvement for lines, wrinkles and loss of elasticity and requires the fewest treatment, with significant results seen from just one session.
Milder treatments can be administered but may require follow- up sessions after four to six weeks.
Clinical studies show that clients have seen outstanding results from just one session.
Am I suitable for this treatment?
All patients will first attend a face to face consultation with our specialist. During this, we will take your full medical history and assess your suitability for the procedure. We will listen to your concerns and treatment goals, whilst providing you with all of the information you need. We’ll also be able to suggest the approximate number of sessions required specific to your concern.
What is the downtime for this treatment?
Recovery times vary according to individual patients and treatment strength/area, most patients have redness which is very similar to sunburn. Redness is typically only visible for the first couple of days post treatment.
Some patients experience swelling for 2-3 days on the deeper treatments.
Skin typically has bronzed effect a few days after and you may notice brown dots on the skin where the skin will then heal.
The full recovery time can take up to one week and is uncomfortable only in the first couple of days. Some patients report their skin is itchy at the end of the recovery process, everyone has a slightly different healing experience.
